Center for Homeland Defense and Security (which
is run by the Department of Homeland Security) conducts a wide range of programs focused on assisting current and future leaders in Homeland Defense and Security to develop the policies, strategies, programs and organizational elements needed to defeat terrorism in the United States.

     
CDC   The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention works to protect public health and safety by providing information to enhance health decisions, and it promotes health through partnerships with state health departments and other organizations. The CDC focuses national attention on developing and applying disease prevention and control, environmental health, occupational safety and health, health promotion, injury prevention and education activities designed to improve the health of the people of the United States.
     
FEMA   FEMA’s mission is to support our citizens and first responders to ensure that as a nation we work together to build, sustain, and improve our capability to prepare for, protect against, respond to, recover from, and mitigate all hazards. Program affiliation with Center for Domestic Preparedness (CDP) and the Emergency Management Institute (EMI), and soon the National Training and Education Division (NTED).
     
Dept of Public Health  

The Illinois Department of Public Health is responsible for protecting the state's 12.4 million residents, as well as countless visitors, through the prevention and control of disease and injury.

     
IEMA   Illinois Emergency Management Agency coordinates the state's disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery programs and activities.
     
APHA  

The American Public Health Association builds a collective voice for public health, working to ensure access to health care, protect funding for core public health services and eliminate health disparities, among a myriad of other issues.

     
IPHA  

The Illinois Public Health Association works with other allied organizations and groups to improve the health status of Illinois residents, the quality of the environment, accessibility to basic health services and the capabilities of the public health system.

     
AACSB   The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business  International advances quality management education  worldwide through accreditation and thought leadership.
     
CEPH   The Council on Education for Public Health is an independent agency recognized by the US Department of Education to accredit schools of public health and graduate public health programs.
     
Higher Learning Commission   The Higher Learning Commission accredits degree-granting post-secondary educational institutions in the North Central region.

The North Central Association of Colleges and Schools requires its Commission members to have accrediting processes that foster quality, encourage academic excellence, and improve teaching and learning. The Association also encourages and supports cooperative relationships among schools, and colleges and universities that hold membership in the Association.

The American Board for Certification in Homeland Security (ABCHS) serves a diverse membership of professionals including active and retired military, law enforcement and security experts, first responders, and others dedicated to the important mission of protecting our nation. The ABCHS is comprised of some of the world's leading professionals who have significant experience in homeland security and emergency response.

The International Consortium for Organizational Resilience (ICOR) was founded to respond to the growing market need for a single avenue of access to the many offerings of education and credentialing expertise that is easily accessible and usable worldwide.  ICOR’s vision is to enable organizations across the globe to understand all of the elements that must be considered in order to enable them to embed the culture and systems they need to provide goods and services in all conditions and situations.

 

     
oemc OEMC   The Office of Emergency Management & Communications (OEMC) manages and operates the City of Chicago's public safety communications systems that coordinate the response of police, fire and Emergency Medical Services
resources to 911 calls. The OEMC operates a world-class voice and data radio system, giving police and fire personnel, on the street, valuable information to help them respond quickly to emergency situations. The OEMC's Emergency Management Team acts as the coordinator for the City's efforts to develop, plan, analyze, implement and maintain programs for disaster mitigation, preparedness, response and recovery. The Emergency Management Team is also responsible for directing the activities of City
departments and other agencies at disaster scenes.
     
RCPT  

The Regional Catastrophic Planning Team (RCPT) is the governing body for the Regional Catastrophic Preparedness Grant Program (RCPGP), which consists of stakeholders from government, private sector, nongovernmental, and community-based organizations within the IL-IN-WI Combined Statistical Area. The RCPGP is an important part of the larger, coordinated effort to strengthen homeland security preparedness. RCPGP helps to implement objectives addressed in a series of post-9/11 laws, strategy documents, plans and Homeland Security Presidential Directives (HSPDs).
