You are expected to arrive in Chicago at O'Hare International Airport on Friday, June 17.

Members of the Institute faculty and administrative staff will be at the airport all day, picking up and shuttling participants to the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). We will have received your final flight information a few days before your arrival.

IMPORTANT: If you change flights, are transferred, or have a new arrival time given to you, please call (312) 355-0423 or email janette@uic.edu so that we can change our pickup times and locations if necessary.

Arriving at O'Hare International Terminal

Most of you will be arriving in Chicago from outside the U.S., and will be going through customs at O'Hare Airport. You will be arriving at the International Terminal. Please take note of the following:

· Once you have finished going through customs, you will come through one of two sets of arrival doors. Our representatives will be holding large white cards reading "SUSI UIC" on them. Please go directly over and introduce yourself.

· If you do not see anyone who is holding a card, go to the Information counter between the two sets of doors, and wait there for about five minutes. If no one appears, or you don't see somebody holding a card, ask the information desk to page "a representative of SUSI UIC," giving your name and nationality.

Arriving at an O'Hare Domestic Terminal

If you changed planes within the U.S., before arriving in Chicago, you will have gone through customs at that time, and will be arriving at a Domestic Terminal at O'Hare. Please take note of the following:

· Because non-passengers are now prohibited from meeting passengers at the gate, proceed directly to the baggage claim area for your flight. At the baggage claim area, expect to see an Institute representative holding a card reading "SUSI UIC". Please go directly over and introduce yourself.

· If you do not see anyone who is holding a card, go to the information desk and wait there for about five minutes. If no one appears, or you don't see anyone who is holding a card, ask the Information desk to page "a representative of SUSI UIC," giving your name and nationality.

Other Travel Information

If your itinerary requires you to stay in an airport-in-transit for more than half a day, try to arrange for a temporary transit visa that will enable you to leave the airport so that you are free to make overnight arrangements if need be.

NOTE: If you plan to stay longer than the allotted time for the Institute, please contact the Institute or your local U.S. Embassy for details regarding your visa.
