The John Nuveen Center for International Affairs was established in 1986 through an endowment from the Nuveen family. Among its activities the Nuveen Center develops and supports programs and activities designed to increase awareness and understanding of international issues and world cultures. As part of its mission the John Nuveen Center oversees the awarding of the John and Grace Nuveen International Awards. These are granted to UIC scholars to encourage international development at UIC by supporting faculty and staff in activities that result in an internationally enriched academic environment. For addtional information concerning these awards, please contact us. The John Nuveen Center also plans cultural activities and events, providing opportunities for international scholars and exchange students to meet with American hosts.
