Whether you plan to teach abroad, conduct research in a foreign language, or communicate with your colleagues from overseas, FLIP will start you on the path to language skills that can be used in academic and professional environments.

Spanish Intermediate: August 25 th - December 12 th , 2008

The Office of International Affairs (OIA) is pleased to announce the next phase of the UIC Faculty Language Immersion Program (FLIP). OIA is responding to the call for continuation of language learning after the beginner summer program. Collaborating with the Department of Spanish, French, Italian, and Portuguese, OIA will be offering an intermediate FLIP for Spanish students. Through this semester, students will be able to able to craft and hone their skills in speaking, listening, reading and some writing on a more focused level.

FLIP will be structured on a less intensive schedule throughout the sixteen weeks of the fall semester. Each session will have approximately 10 participants who meet once a week for two hours. Participants are required to pay a fee of $225.00. Past participants in FLIP, as well as anyone who has a near-immediate level in Spanish proficiency may participate in the program. Students will meet with the instructor beforehand to determine if they are a good match for the program.
