International Education Week 2004
UIC celebrated International Education Week, November 15-19, 2004, by hosting a resources fair open to the public and an invitational luncheon.

Illinois Rooms A & B The Fair provided information to students about:
&bullInternational educational opportunities (study abroad and exchange programs)
&bullForeign language classes and international studies at UIC International programs
&bullInternational resources available through campus departments/units
&bullInternational student organizations
&bullCultural events
&bullChicago area international and cultural organizations This year there was also a raffle with prizes donated by participating organizations. Celebration of International Education Luncheon
UIC hosted the annual Celebration of International Education Luncheon, which honors Chicago's diplomatic corps, on November 16. The luncheon is also intended to highlight and recognize UIC's extensive programming and activities in international education. The invitational luncheon welcomed:
&bull The Diplomatic Corps of Chicago
&bull UIC faculty, staff, and students
&bull Exchange students and visiting scholars The Consular Corps of Chicago was recognized from the podium with a presentation accepted by the Dean of the Consular Corps, Borys Bazylevskyi, Consul General of Ukraine. The keynote address was delivered by Deborah Schwartz, US State Department Diplomat in Residence at UIC. The International Education Week Resources Fair and Luncheon are sponsored by OIA and the John Nuveen Center for International Affairs.
