JOHN AND GRACE NUVEEN INTERNATIONAL AWARDS

The John and Grace Nuveen International Awards for students have been established to honor John and Grace Nuveen. These awards are intended to assist UIC students with expenses related to OIA/Nuveen Center exchange program in which they are participating.

Each semester the Office of International Affairs holds a competition, open to all UIC exchange students. During the Academic Year 2009/2010, four awards of $500.00 will be offered.  Awards may be used to support travel, lodging, and personal expenses related to the Exchange Program.

Eligibility for the scholarship is limited to UIC undergraduate and graduate students who:

    • will have completed at least one year of course work as of July 31, 2009;
    • have a cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 on a  4-point scale;
    • are participating in an international exchange program through the UIC Office of International Affairs and the John Nuveen Center.
Students participating in exchange programs in all fields are eligible. Awards are based on a combined consideration of academic merit and financial need. Candidates must not have previously received a Nuveen International Award. Awards presume that nominees are in good academic standing.
