UIC will be moving all undergraduate Admissions processing into the Common Application for the Fall 2013 incoming class. This is one component of the Strategic Enrollment Management Plan. The Mission as stated on the Common Application website:
“The Common Application is a not-for-profit membership organization that, since its founding over 35 years ago, has been committed to providing reliable services that promote equity, access, and integrity in the college application process. We serve students, member institutions, and secondary schools by providing applications - online and in print - that students and school officials may submit to any of our more than 450 members. Membership is open to colleges and universities that promote access by evaluating students using a holistic selection process.”
UIC will be using the Common Application for freshman and transfer undergraduate applicants. Applicants can also apply to the Honors College (freshman and transfer) and the Guaranteed Professional Program Admission (freshman). UIC is an exclusive member of the Common Application which means all freshman applications will be processed through the Common Application.
