Jane Lin
Biography
Jane is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Civil and Materials Engineering at University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She holds a joint appointment with the Institute for Environmental Science and Policy (IESP) at UIC. Her education background includes M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Civil and Environmental Engineering (minor in Statistics) from University of California, Davis and a B.S. in Civil Engineering (with dual degree in Computer Science) from Tsinghua University, Beijing, China. Before joining UIC in 2003, Jane was a post-doctoral fellow with the Harvard University Center for the Environment in Cambridge, MA.
Jane’s primary research interests have been in the areas of transportation and air quality modeling, and public transportation planning. Her research work has appeared in transportation and environmental journals including Transportation Science, Atmospheric Environment, and Transportation Research Part D: Transportation and the
Environment . Jane’s other professional affiliations include the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Transportation Research Board (TRB), the Air and Waste Management Association (A&WMA), and North America Chinese Overseas Transportation Association (NACOTA).
