Siddhartha Bhattacharyya is currently an Associate Professor of Information and Decision Sciences College of Business and Administration at the UIC. He received his Doctor of Philosophy, from the University of Florida, Gainesville. Prior to his doctorate, Prof. Bhattacharyya received his Bachelor of Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology in Ranchi, India. He has been teaching courses in Advanced Systems Analysis and Design, Information Systems Projects & Program Management, and Business Data Mining in the Department for Interdisciplinary Studies at the UIC since 1997. In addition, Prof. Bhattacharyya is on the editorial board of the Journal of Database Marketing and a journal reviewer for multiple organizations.
Professor Bhattacharyya's area of interests lie in emerging technologies for decision support, evolutionary algorithms, inductive learning, neural networks, case-based reasoning, genetic algorithms, data and knowledge base management systems, and object-oriented databases. His research specialties are business intelligence, data mining, complexity, network science, computational modeling in business, evolutionary computation, machine learning, information technology, and e-business.
