May 1, 2001 Dear UIC Student: Since 1993 when the Chancellor's Committee on the Status of Women (CCSW) established the CCSW Adult Women Student Awards, twelve scholarships and tuition waivers have been awarded to returning women students. We are pleased to announce that the Office of Women's Affairs (OWA) will administer a tuition waiver for study at UIC during the academic year 2001-2002. This waiver will be awarded to an undergraduate student at UIC and will cover 2001-2002 tuition, excluding fees. Information about the waiver is available below or on the Office of Women's Affairs Website, www.uic.edu/depts/owa We invite you to apply. To be considered for this tuition waiver, a student must meet the following qualifications: 1. be a woman undergraduate student enrolled full time at UIC 2. be at least 25 years of age 3. have earned a cumulative grade point average of 4.25 or higher for work completed at UIC 4. have completed a minimum of two consecutive terms and 15 semester hours at UIC by June, 2000 5. be registered as a full time continuing student for fall semester, 2001 6. be working towards a first bachelor's degree 7. have clear educational goals. 8. qualify as an Illinois resident as defined by the University of Illinois at Chicago, thus paying in-state tuition.
