UIC WOMEN'S HERITAGE MONTH 2009
“Exploring Our Footprint”

Women's Heritage Month is a time to celebrate and promote leadership and pride among the women on the UIC campus. It is a great opportunity to create conversations about issues facing women today, as well as to create a community among women on campus. More broadly, it is a vehicle for highlighting and celebrating the countless accomplishments and contributions of women to society.

In honor of this celebration, UIC’s Office of Women’s Affairs is proud to announce a month-long series of events that celebrates contributions women have made to history and culture. We are very excited to reintroduce this event for March 2009. In 2005, the UIC Women's Heritage Month series was cut due to budget rescissions. This year, despite similar economic circumstances, a coalition of committed individuals, departments, and organizations have partnered together and worked as a team to develop and promote diverse, exciting, and interactive activities throughout our campus. Their collaborative, grassroots effort has brought Women’s Heritage Month back to the UIC landscape.
