JUDIE GARCIA, joined ABC7 as co-anchor of ABC7's Sunday Morning News in December 1996. Besides her anchor responsibilities, she reports for the station's daily newscasts. Garcia came to ABC7 from KNTV, the ABC sister station in San Jose, California, where she was the news anchor of the 11:00 pm newscast. Prior to that, she worked at KEWS-TV in Midland-Odessa, Texas and KMOL-TV in San Antonio. Garcia is a graduate from the University of Texas, where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English. Please come and hear "the rest of the story" about Garcia's journey to becoming one of the new faces of leadership. |

Dr. Nelvia Brady, was raised in public housing on Chicago's Westside. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Illinois, her Master's degree at the University of Wisconsin, and her Doctorate degree at Michigan State University. An advocate of education with more than 25 years of experience in educational administration, Brady was the first African-American and the only female to have served as the Chancellor of the City Colleges of Chicago. Brady is the author of This Mother's Daughter, a collection of 20 real-life stories that explore the complexity of the African-American mother-daughter relationship. |
