How to listen or subscribe

Listening to an audio file

In the list of news releases with accompanying podcasts, click on the "Audio" link of the release you would like to hear. If you have a multimedia player, such as the free, downloadable QuickTime or Windows Media Player on your computer, the file will begin to stream to your computer.

Subscribing to a podcast

By subscribing to the UIC news podcast feed, new audio files will automatically download as they become available. You can listen to the files on your computer or download them to your mp3 player.

You will need a media aggregator or podcatcher such as iTunes, or Juice. Once you have downloaded one of these free software packages, follow the instructions for subscribing to podcasts. For example, in your iTunes, select "podcasts" from the source list on the left side of the screen. Then from the menu, select "Advanced," then "subscribe to podcast." In the box, input the following URL:

Return to your iTunes' podcast page and click the "update" icon. It will download "Research News from UIC." Click on the arrow to the left of the title to see the podcasts available.
