of Philosophy, M/C 267 tel: (312) 413-1801 Colin Klein is an Assistant Professor. He received his PhD from Princeton University in 2007. His research interests center on philosophy of mind and science, particularly where they intersect in philosophy of psychology. His dissertation, "Idealizing the Mind", develops a general theory of idealizing explanation and argues that many uses of mental terms actually refer to idealized, non-actual models of human psychology. Other current research projects include examining the methodology and import of neural imaging techniques, developing an imperative theory of pain, and defending unpopular theses about reduction. |
