Jane Upin is a Visiting Professor of Philosophy. She received her Ph.D.
from the University of Chicago and has been the recipient of three NEH
awards. Her work centers on how the built environment shapes the human
condition, on the connections between architectural design and morality.
She is also interested in philosophy of social science as well as in pragmatist
feminism and her publications in Hypatia include "Charlotte Perkins
Gilman: Instrumentalism Beyond Dewey."
