Professor Ansari's research is directed toward characterizing conformational fluctuations in biological macromolecules and toward understanding the role that dynamics plays in their biological function. Current efforts are focused on studying the unwinding of short DNA molecules when the system is perturbed with a laser-induced temperature-jump.
