Beginning
in the Fall Semester, 2002, International Studies at UIC officially becomes a
new Minor under the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (LAS), upgraded from a
certificate program through 2001. The total number of required credit hours for
the Minor is 21, up from 18 for the certificate program.
The breakdown of the requirements is listed below.
Students interested in pursuing this Minor must select a faculty adviser
from members of the LAS International Studies Advisory Committee listed on the
previous page.
(The committee is subject to reorganization over the summer.)
Courses completed to fulfill minor requirements cannot be used to satisfy
requirements of the student’s major area of study.
Students may use courses to fulfill the requirements in both the major
and the minor, but the credit hours may only be used in one or the other.
