1997-2000 "The Challenge Zone; High Standards in Mathematics and Science," National Science Foundation. Co-Principal Investigator with J. Bransford, N. Vye, & B. Sherwood. Total award = $700,000
1997-2000 "National Partnership for Excellence and Accountability in Teaching," U.S. Department of Education. Principal Investigator on the entire Peabody portion of the larger project, Principal Investigator with S. Goldman and J. Bransford on one of the three Peabody subprojects. Total award = $550,000.
1997-2002 "The K-12 Learning Consortium," Private Foundation. Co-Principal Investigator with S. Goldman, J. Bransford & T. Hasselbring. Total award = $3,000,000
1999-2002 "Information Technology and Teacher Education: Leveraging the Power of Learning Theory and Technology," U.S. Department of Education, Co-Principal Investigator with J. Bransford. Total award = $2,800,000
1999-2004 "VANTH Center for Bioengineering Education Technologies," National Science Foundation. Major Investigator on Peabody portion of larger Center Grant, J. Bransford is PI for Peabody part, T. Harris is overall Center PI. Total Peabody award = $1,500,000 (Total award to Vanderbilt is $10,000,000)
