Reclaiming History

This page was first launched in observance of Lesbian, Gay, and Bisexual History Month (celebrated every October). We salute the contributions of these noted individuals. Some of these people self-identified as lesbian or gay, but not all. Part of reclaiming history is to fully explore the lives of public figures. Many, but not all, of the people listed here had a significant impact on modern gay and lesbian culture. Some of the people featured here are considered to be lesbian or gay but not by everyone (and depending on the era, perhaps not even by themselves). We invite you to explore the lives of the dozen people included here.
