Are you a young LGBT person of color in Chicagoland?
Do you need financial support to attend the conference?

The Crossroads Fund is seeking to support young LGBT people of color in the Metro Chicago Area though their Queer Youth Development Fund. They are providing grants to help them develop leadership and organizational skills. This could include support for attending this conference. Their are looking for youth who:

• demonstrate a personal commitment to community activism within their LGBT people of color communities
• have support from a LBGT people of color sponsoring organization
• demonstrate financial need
• Identify their ancestry as African, Arab, Asian Pacific Islander, Latino, Native American or South Asian
• are between 18 and 25 years old
• and live in the Chicago metro area (Cook, DuPage, Kane, Lake, McHenry and Will counties)

If you meet these criteria, please consider contacting the Crossroads Fund to apply for a grant underwriting the MBLGTCC. Call them at 773-227-7676. It will require that you write an "application narrative" (no more than three pages detailing what conference you want to attend, what type of work you have done within the LGBT people of color community; and your goals and objectives for the community work you would like to do in the future.). Grant recipients also must submit a written report on the conference to Crossroads following the conference.
