Transportation to Chicago

UIC is located just outside the "Loop" of downtown Chicago. We are easily accessible via car and parking will be available in the parking garage and lots across from the Chicago Circle Center. The CTA (Chicago Transit Authority) has extensive bus and "L" service to the campus as well. The Greyhound bus station and Amtrak station are also relatively near campus.

Amtrak also provides service to downtown Chicago. Union Station terminal is a short cab or bus ride to the UIC campus.

Flying in? American Airlines has been designed as the official airline for our conference. They are offering a 5% discount for conference registrants from their lowest applicable fare -- 10% off if you book your flight 60 days in advance. You must make your travel arrangements on American Airlines or American Eagle for the travel period of Feb. 17 - 25 (should you prefer to come early or stay late to see more of what Chicago has to offer).

To get these fares, please call the American Airlines Meeting Services desk at 1-800-433-1790. You will need to give them AN Number 2828UQ to qualify for the discount. Standby is allowed on return flights only for the ticketed date of departure. All excess, oversized, and/or overweight baggage and equipment fees apply. All taxes, fees and charges (such as passenger facility charges or departure taxes) imposed on any portion of one's travel are the passenger's responsibility, regardless of the date of purchase or travel, or any retroactive imposition of such taxes, fees, charges, penalties, and interest.

Purchasing your ticket this way helps the conference. For every 25 tickets that are sold, we are given a free ticket to Chicago. We can use these tickets to reduce the costs of bringing in our keynote speakers and make it more likely that we will not lose money! We appreciate your consideration.

We have links to Chicago O'Hare International Airport info and to Chicago Midway Airport info. The CTA provides "L" service from both airports to downtown (the Blue line train serves O'Hare and the UIC campus; the orange line train serves Midway and requires a transfer downtown to the Blue line train to get to UIC).
