PFLAG is a national organization that has a three-fold mission: first, to support family and friends as they learn that someone they love is gay, lesbian, bisexual, or transgender; second, to educate an ill-informed public about issues relating to sexual orientation; and third, to advocate for full civil rights for gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender individuals.

The Chicago PFLAG Chapter will have a meeting on
Sunday, February 19th, from 2-4pm!!

After much planning, the Chicago PFLAG Chapter has relocated as part of a renewed effort to establish a growing need to share the joy, and serve the needs of, our Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, and Transgender Loved ones. The Chicago PFLAG Chapter is open to all persons of any sexual orientation, gender identity, and any racial or ethnic group, their parents, family members and friends, and any person who cares about the LGBT community. Our primary mission is to support parents, family members and friends who have learned that their child is gay. The chapter and others like it in the Chicago Suburban area are run by mothers, fathers, and their LGBT children. You always have a home at PFLAG!

In addition, PFLAG promotes education, to enlighten an ill- informed public and advocacy, to end discrimination and to secure equal civil rights. PFLAG provides opportunity for dialogue about sexual orientation and gender identity, and acts to create a society that is healthy and respectful o fhuman diversity.

The meeting location is at the University of Illinois at Chicago campus, Room 315, UIC Student Center East, 750 S. Halsted. Our next meeting is Sun., Feb 19th, 2-4pm. We hold regular monthly meetings on the third Sunday of each month from 2-4 p.m. We always hold meetings regardless of holidays. Parking is available on the street and in a lot across the street. We are also accessible by the CTA #8 Halsted Bus and we are near the CTA Blue Line UIC-Halsted “El” Stop.

Refreshments will be served.

Our meeting format consists of general announcements about local LGBT Events and News, folowed by a guest speaker to talk about any LGBT topics. On Sunday, February 19th, our guest is Dr. Jod Taywaditep, who will talk about LGBT Identity. Afterwards, we have small group sessions for people to share their stories about their LGBT loved ones.
