The Rainbow Resource
Room
Hours: Monday through Friday 10:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
The OGLBTC coordinates the Rainbow Resource (181 BSB). The Rainbow Resource has a collection of over 1000 books; over 300 videos (including short films, music, comedy, documentaries, dramas, educational & self-help, and magazine shows); and a vertical file for research on GLBT topics for dissertations, theses, term papers, and projects.
Members of the UIC community can check out videos and books from our collection. Currently, we offer videos on a two-day loan and books/audiobooks on a two-week loan with UIC ID. We request $1.00 for each video checked out -- with the funds generated used to purchase additional videos for the Rainbow Resource.
The Rainbow Resource has a TV/VCR and a DVD player for viewing films; a microwave and refrigerator; and two computers and a printer for student use.
The Rainbow Resource also subscribes to The Advocate, Curve, A & U, and Alternative Family. The Office has many back issues of other journals and magazines.
Current issues of Windy City Times, Nightlines, En La Vida, BLACKlines , and the OUT! Resource Guide are available in the Rainbow Resource.
