    THE 1998 MIDWEST BISEXUAL LESBIAN GAY COLLEGE CONFERENCE PLANNING
                         HAS BEEN SET IN MOTION

The annual conference will be held at the University of Illinois at
Chicago from 20 to 22 FEBRUARY 1998.

The conference has been a regular event in the Midwest for the past half
decade. The 1997 conference was held at Indiana State University in Terre
Haute. Attendance at the 1997 event neared 600 -- the highest to
date. Previous conferences have been held at Beloit College in Wisconsin,
Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Earlham College in Indiana,
and Iowa State University in Ames. 1998 marks the first time the
conference will take place in a major metropolitan area.

We will begin accepting workshop proposals immediately. We urge the
sending of early proposals, as we would like to have as many locked-in so
that we may concentrate on accommodations for the attendees as the
conference date approaches, rather than program elements.

While some may not feel that they have a proposal "polished" enough to
submit during the remainder of this semester or during the summer, we
strongly encourage the submission of "sketch proposals" or "intended
proposals" early. This will enable the program committee to evaluate what
will be included, what might need to be sought, and assist in finalizing
the program schedule early enough to distribute Conference Announcements
in a timely manner.
