Ballot Measure 9 is a powerful documentary that vividly chronicles the bitter fight over Oregon's 1992 anti-gay Ballot Measure 9, a ballot initiative which would have prohibited the passage of ordinances and laws protecting the rights of lesbian and gay citizens in the State of Oregon. Narrowly defeated, Ballot Measure 9 became a model for hate campaigns in other states, where similar measures have passed. The players on both sides and the escalating rhetoric and violence of the Ballot Measure 9 battle are vividly portrayed. Co-Winner: 1995 Sundance Film Festival Audience Award.
