Come to the first annual Minnesota Queer Student Conference Gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender college students from all around the state of Minnesota will be gathering on *Saturday, May 21, 1994 at the University of Minnesota's Coffman Memorial Union* for the FIRST ANNUAL MINNESOTA QUEER STUDENT CONFERENCE. This is an historica event; it marks the first time a state-wide effort has been made to bring together queer campus organizations and student from around MN to talk about queer issues. With the endorsement of the Gay & Lesbian Community Action Council, the conference features a workshop: "Organizing With a Mission" and presentation: "The Importance of Campus Organizing: the Role Campus Activists Play in teh Greater Queer Movement." Presenters include Joe Hoover of the Metro State Lavender Bridge; Beth Zimsky, Director of the GLBT Programming Office at the U of MN; Ann DeGroot, Executive Director of the GLCAC; and Jer Hanson from Macalester's Queer Union. The conference is a first step in creating greater coalition amongst queer student groups from around the state. Over 24 college and university queer student organizations have been contacted. The conference is free to individuals; student groups are encouraged to make a $10 donation to help cover costs. Check-in starts at 9am and the program runs until 1pm.
