Don't Whine, Organize--

The Grassroots Organizing weekends have been developed by
student and community organizers to give students the
tools to solve the problems that students face.  The GROW
training is designed to help you:
* Overcome campus apathy
* Develop strategies to win specific issues campaigns
* Gain hands on organizing experience
* Build more effective *coalitions* among campus groups 
  and with community groups
* Increase the membership funding, reputation, and  
influence of your organization.

Session details--

Trained activists possessing diverse skills and
experiences facilitate each session.  The Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual transgender GROW training is a full 2-and-a-half
day training seminar starting Friday, 12.May.95 at 18:00
CDT to Sunday, 14.May at 17:00.  The workshops involve
all participants and build on one another. It is critical
that participants make a commitment to attend the entire
session.

About the University of Minnesota Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual,
Transgender Programs Office:
     The GLBT Programs Office is dedicated to improving
campus climate for GLBT people at the University of
Minnesota and to addressing the harmful effects of
discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender
identification. The GLBT Programs Office is under
supervision of the Associate Vice President for Human
Resources and the Associate provost for Academic Affairs
at the University of Minnesota.

About the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force Campus
Project:
     Established in 1973, the NGLTF has been at the
forefront of every major drive to secure and advance the
freedom of America's LGB community.  Information obtained
and developed by the organizers, activists, and
researchers at the NGLTF Policy Institute and Campus
Project can provide new resources and strength for campus
groups increasing their viability and success -- by
providing support, educational resources, and
organizational and technical assistance, the Campus
Project seeks to empower campus organizers and establish
healthy campus organizations.

About USSA, NLGBSC, and NLGBSOCC:
     Founded in 1947, the United States Student Assn.
(USSA) is the nation's oldest and largest student
organization.  As the only lobby in Washington, DC, USSA
voices students' concerns.  The National Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual Student Caucus (NLGBSC), an affiliate of the
USSA, works on issues of access to higher education which
directly affect LGB students.  The National Lesbian, Gay,
Bisexual Students of Color Caucus (NLGBSOCC) of the USSA
works on issues affecting access to higher education for
LGB students of color.
