Several years ago, H. Robert Malinowsky, Professor and Manager of Collections Development and Reference at the University of Illinois at Chicago Library, used to circulate "Out of the Stacks." This was a newsletter which listed all the recent acquisitions of the Library which dealt with gay/lesbian/bisexual topics. His recent work load has prevented him from compiling this list and the Office of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Concerns agreed to take on this project.
Periodically, Prof. Malinowsky has agreed to furnish us with information about new titles acquired for the collections of the UIC Library. These titles are available for checkout to all authorized users of the UIC Library. Most of these titles are available at the Main Library, but you should check their catalog to verify the location.
We have arranged to the titles to appear alphabetically by author in each "edition" of "Out of the Stacks." Starting with the October, 1999 edition, they are alphabetic by author within subject categories.
Also, we were pleased to learn that the Library of the Health Sciences will begin carrying the Journal of the Gay and Lesbian Medical Association starting in 2000.
