This list exists to serve the membership of PRIDE: Lesbian Gay Bisexual and Transgender People Advocating Diversity. PRIDE is UIC's largest lesbigaytrans student organization.
Most of the mailings on PRIDE are announcements of meetings, events or opportunities for PRIDE members to get involved. The volume tends not to be very high so you don't have to worry about your mailbox being swamped with postings.
To subscribe to the list, address a message to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.UIC.EDU
with the message:
subscribe pride-l firstname lastname
[Note: Replace firstname lastname with your own name.]
Contributions sent to this list are automatically archived. You can get a list of the available archive files by sending an "INDEX PRIDE-L" command to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.UIC.EDU. You can then order these files with a "GET PRIDE-L LOGxxxx" command, or using LISTSERV's database search facilities. Send an "INFO DATABASE" command for more information on the latter.
This list is available in digest form. If you wish to receive the digested version of the postings, just issue a SET PRIDE-L DIGEST command.
Also, it is presently possible for other people to determine you are signed up to the list through the use of the "REVIEW" command, which returns the e-mail address and name of all the subscribers. If you do not want your name to be visible, just send a "SET PRIDE-L CONCEAL" command to LISTSERV@LISTSERV.UIC.EDU after you have subscribed.
