The complex includes varsity fields for men's baseball, women's softball and the men's soccer teams. The tennis courts will be utilized by the men's and women's varsity teams, but will also be available for recreational use. Recreation facilities include two multi-purpose grass fields, three snad volleyball courts, and a jogging path that circles the complex.

Facility access during these scheduled times is only through the gate at 14th Place. UIC users should present proper UIC identification to gain access.  The South Field Complex will be closed during inclement weather.

Features

Multi-purpose Fields
These lighted fields will be used to support the intramural and sport club programs. They will also be available for drop-in use and rentals. Student groups or outside constituents wishing to use the fields on an on-going basis should register with Campus Recreation to schedule your activity.  Registered groups have priority during the scheduled hours of operation.  Group usage during non-scheduled hours of operation is prohibited. Please consult the Recreation office for available dates and times.

Tennis Courts
The six lighted tennis courts are available for recreational use when not being used by the varsity teams for practice or matches. The courts are available on a first come, first served basis. Court time is limited to one hour for singles, and one and a half hours for doubles play.  The lights are active during the early-to-mid Spring and late Fall days.  The lights are on a schedule of Monday through Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m.  As the daylight gets longer, the lights will not be used.

Sand Volleyball Courts
The volleyball courts are available at any time the field complex is open. See the court rules for specifics of play. Intramural activities have priority over any open play times.

Jogging Path
The outdoor jogging path winds through the perimeter of the field complex and covers roughly 7/8 of a mile. Alternate running routes may be imposed during varsity soccer matches.

The outdoor field complex will be available for drop-in use by UIC community and neighborhood residents on scheduled days. During the academic year, community access is limited.  Community access is open during the university's academic summer break.  Proper identification is required for entry. (drivers license or state I.D.) No persons under the age of 16 years will be permitted in the facility unless accompanied by a parent or legal guardian. Drop-in usage space is constituted as tennis courts, sand volleyball courts, and the jogging path. Field use may be available on an unscheduled basis. Reoccurring field use will not be permitted without a scheduled rental contract. See the Recreation Supervisor for information on field rentals.  Please be aware that Pets are NOT Allowed in the Outdoor Field Complex.  Violators will be ticketed by UIC Police.

Facility rentals or University programs may preempt the drop in schedule. UIC reserves the right to reschedule any activity days and times. Facilities may be closed due to inclement weather, or unscheduled maintenance. For more information, call the Field Office at (312) 413-2738.
