If your department is not listed below, you should contact them to see if there is a recommendation, if not, you may ask us and we can help you assess your needs for the perfect computer.

College of Art & Design

The school of Art & Design requires the following items for first year students. Please make sure to see if your individual major below requires or recommended additional hardware and software.

Architecture 105 - Your Arch 105 instructors require a number of items that will be used in this course.  To make things easy, we have put together a package for you.  They include all the items that are required at discounted prices.  There are a couple of items that are sold separately, that information is listed below.

The kit below can be reserved at The UIC Bookstore starting August 17th.  If you have any questions or would like to pre-order, you can contact Hiba at hsweis1@uic.edu .  Kits and individual items will be available for pick up by Saturday 8/21.

For student's who do choose to purchase a computer, The UIC Bookstore has put together a list of recommended computers and software based on the input of different departments in the College of Engineering. These computers are meant to last you a minimum of 3 years and possibly well into graduation.

The College of Business does not have a computer requirement. All students will have access to computer labs with any special software needed to complete homework.
