Alternate Entry Programs

     Alternate entry programs are designed to meet the needs of the citizen soldier and veteran. 

Simultaneous Membership Program (SMP) - is for college students who are currently serving in either the National Guard or Reserves or desire to join the National Guard and Reserves and wish to become an officer through ROTC.  

     SMP Benefits include:
         *  Automatic pay increase to E-5 upon contracting to the ROTC Advanced Course.
         *  Monthly ROTC stipend ($300-$500).
         *  Serve as an officer while drilling with the Reserves and enrolled in ROTC.
         *  Exposure to officer leadership challenges in a "real-world" environment.
         *  Option for Guaranteed Reserve Forces Duty (GRFD) upon graduation.

Lateral Entry - is for veterans who were honorably discharged and graduated from Basic Training.  Veterans are eligible for enrollment in the ROTC Advanced Course upon starting their Junior Year.   Benefits  

Green to Gold
- is designed for active duty soldiers seeking to complete their active duty enlistment while serving as a full time student contracted in the Advanced Course of ROTC.  Active Duty soldiers must have sufficient credits to enter the Advanced Course before they are eligible for Green to Gold.  Commanders' approvals are required .
