Thank you for choosing the University of Illinois at Chicago! We are committed to making your transition to UIC a success. The Spring Orientation Program will help you complete many important steps before starting your classes in January.

STEP 1: OBTAIN AN ADVISING DATE
Students in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences skip to step 2 (academic advising will be part of your Orientation program). All other students will need to contact their college to register for an academic advising session. Contact information can be found in the Campus Directory.


STEP 2
: REGISTER FOR ORIENTATION
(All students) Call the Orientation Program Office to schedule for Spring Orientation 2004 at (312) 996-3271.

STEP 3: PLAN TO BRING:

  • A government issued ID or passport
  • Advising materials from your college
  • A pen and writing tablet
  • A comfortable pair of walking shoes

STEP 4: ATTEND ORIENTATION
Arrive no later than 8:00 a.m.at the Student Services Building (1200 West Harrison Street) to check-in.

STEP 5: PAY ORIENTATION FEE
Expect to be charged the Orientation fee of $35 on your university bill shortly after you register for an Orientation date. If you have confirmed your Orientation date and have not received your bill for the fee, you may still attend.

During your Orientation program you will…

  •  Check-in at 8:00 A.M. at the Student Services Building (1200 West Harrison Street)
  • Tour the campus
  • Meet representatives from UIC student services
  • Obtain your student ID
  • Activate your computer account
  • Meet with an academic advisor if you are in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences (other students please refer to the letter that accompanied the Orientation brochure for your college advising dates which may also be part of Orientation)
  • Have an opportunity to connect with a Student Orientation Leader who has been successful at UIC and is very well versed in university procedures, services and student life
  • Be provided with lunch
  • …and much more

Please Read

  • It is strongly encouraged that you attend Orientation the earliest date available.
  • Orientation dates differ between colleges. Please refer to the letter that accompanied the Orientation brochure for more information.
  • Orientation date changes or cancellations must be completed no less than 7 days prior to your original date. Otherwise, you will be responsible for the Orientation fee.
  • Because of space limitations and the nature of the program, it is not possible to accommodate friends or relatives.

You must confirm special requests 7 days prior to your attendance by calling the Orientation Program Office. Failure to confirm any special arrangements may result in their cancellation.
