2012 CSSLA

Nominations are now closed for 2012 Chancellor's Student Service and Leadership Awards. 
Awardees will be selected in early March and notified by email and a formal invitation mailed to the address provided as a part of the nomination process. 

Awardees find out their specific award at the ceremony.


RSVPs for the 2012 Ceremony open in mid-March.
You must RSVP via address on invitation received in email or printed invite. The link is not on this site.

IMPORTANT
Information for Awardees

Invitation: Students who were properly nominated and will be receiving an award at the CSSLA Ceremony have already been mailed a formal invitation to the Ceremony using the address provided by the student during the nomination process.
Students who were determined to be ineligible for the awards did not receive an invitation to the event.

RSVP: Friday April 6th, 2012. Awardees are allowed to bring 2 guests only - room capacity will not allow for more guests - no exceptions will be made to this rule.
If you are unable to attend the event please do not RSVP for attending.

Attendance: Awardees must report to the East Terrance (2nd floor adjacent to the Inner Circle) of Student Center East between 4:30 - 5:30pm (no later than 5:30pm) for check-in and processional line up. Students arriving after this time may not be allowed to processing in with the other students and will possibly be recognized at the end of the program, if at all.
Note that there is a Hors D'oveurs Reception at 5:00pm that awardees may take part in and the Awards Ceremony begins at 6:00pm

Recognition: Each student will be recognized personally by making their way across the stage to receive their award and be greeted by the UIC Chancellor, Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs, and Dean of Students.

Attire: Awardees are encouraged to wear business/business casual appropriate attire to the Ceremony.

Personal Item Storage: Recognizing that some students will be coming from class or work a locked room will be provided for those who wish to store their items during the ceremony. Although the room will be locked during the ceremony we do not accept responsibility for any lost, damaged, or stolen items please in the room.

Ineligibility: If a students' name is not on this list to the right but was nominated it is because of one of several reasons;
1. ineligible due to grades,
2. ineligible due to lack of service (being paid or receiving course credit for "service" contribution),
3. weak nomination letter (not highlighting service contribution).

Can't attend?: Those receiving awards who cannot attend the CSSLA Ceremony will have the opportunity to pick up their awards from the host office

Information for Nominators

Nominator Invitation: Nominators for students who will be receiving awards at the CSSLA Ceremony have been contacted via e-mail
  • Students who were properly nominated and will be receiving an award at the CSSLA Ceremony have already been mailed a formal invitation to the Ceremony using the address provided by student.
  • Students who were determined to be ineligible for the awards did not receive an invitation to the event.
  • The student may have not responded to prompts for their contribution to the nomination. Students were sent weekly reminders and other attempts were made to make contact in most cases.


RSVP:
  • Due to space restrictions nominators are not allowed to bring guests
  • You should receive an email inviting you to RSVP. If you did not, contact the office at 312-996-4500.
Attendance: While nominators are invited and encouraged to attend the Ceremony it is NOT mandatory that they attend.
