To provide students with comprehensive leadership and service programming that encourages and facilitates academic excellence and the development of increasingly advanced leadership skills and civic engagement through the promotion of self-awareness, responsible and active citizenship, intellectual growth, and cultural diversity.
Our Philosophy
The programs and services offered by our office provide students with knowledge, skills, and experiences to develop as leaders and an opportunity to provide direct service to their community. We believe that leadership is a continual and relational process rather than a given position and should include a lifelong commitment to community as part of being an engaged citizen. The staff members of the Office of Student Leadership Development & Volunteer Services believe that every UIC student has the potential for leadership, both personally and in the world.
