What is Volunteer Match?
VolunteerMatch is a tool that UIC has chosen to use to strengthen our community by making it easier for our student, alumni, faculty, and staff to connect to good causes. The tool offers a variety of online services to support a community of nonprofit, volunteer and business leaders committed to civic engagement.

- service projects associated with specific causes, ethnic groups, age ranges, etc...

                            How To Make An Account

Go to www.uicvolunteer.org

1. Click on register (top right in the blue banner)
2. Click on the light blue box where it says “Create an Account Now”
3. Complete all of the required fields and you have successfully created an account.

How to search for a volunteer opportunity

1. First create an account (instructions on the back of this form) and log in.
2. Search for a volunteer opportunity by clicking on the ‘Search’ button.
3. Located on the left hand side you will see two boxes - one where you can enter in your location and the other allows you to enter in key words. Fill out all applicable information and select ‘Search’.
4. Once you have found an opportunity that interests you, click on it and read the description. To learn more about the opportunity and/or to sign up click the red button labeled “I Want to Help!” - a message will be sent directly to the agency alerting them of your contact information; feel free to follow this message up with a phone call at a later date.

                 How to Find a UIC G.I.V.E. Event

1. Log in to Volunteer Match (www.uicvolunteer.org)
2. Locate the ‘UIC Sponsored Events’ section on the homepage.   Select ‘G.I.V.E.’ (Get Involved in Volunteer Experiences)
3. All currently active G.I.V.E. events are listed.
4. Select “ I Want to Help” to sign up to participate in one of the service opportunities.

           How to get your friends involved!
Refer a friend through VolunteerMatch by selecting an opportunity that you would like to refer and click on the button labeled “Email This to a Friend” - easy!
