Undergraduate Program

UIC Sociology Undergraduate Program

Our BA program will prepare you for a variety of occupational careers including: social research, law, business, public and private administration, health and medicine, and community planning. Our majors have gone onto jobs in survey research; public-opinion polling; industrial, marketing, and advertising research; and government or nonprofit agencies that deliver of human services. Sociology graduates also work as managers or researchers in service industries such as health, insurance, banking, and real estate, as well as in sales and manufacturing organizations.

Graduate Program

UIC Sociology Graduate Program

We offer programs leading to the Master of Arts and the Doctor of Philosophy. Our MA program will provide you with a good general background in sociology. The PhD program is organized around our four strongest substantive areas: Health and Medical; International, Comparative, and Asian Societies; Race, Ethnicity, and Gender; and Work, Labor Markets, and Organizations.
