First Step Advising appointments are mandatory for all study abroad applicants as a starting point for the application process. During the 45 minute First Step, a study abroad advisor will review how to select the best program for your needs, outline the application process, and distribute the UIC Study Abroad application.

To sign up for a session, look at the schedule below, choose a date, note both the day and time of your preferred attendance. To reserve your seat either:

First Step Schedule

August 25 – October 24

 First Step sessions are held in the SAO Resource Room 502 University Hall 

September 26 th is the priority application deadline for all programs .
Complete all materials for both SAO and your chosen program by the 26 th and you'll be eligible to receive a Lonely Planet Guidebook for your program country!

October 24 th is the final SAO application deadline for all programs.
