The Forum on Education Abroad

The Forum on Education Abroad is the principle US higher education professional association recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission as the Standards Development Organization (SDO) for the field of education abroad. It is a professional membership organization whose exclusive purpose it is to serve the field of education abroad. The Forum's Standards of Good Practice are recognized as the definitive means by which the quality of education abroad programs may be judged.

UIC has full membership through the Study Abroad Office.  Chris Deegan, SAO Director, is a member of the Forum's Standards of Good Practice Committee, the Undergraduate Research Standards Working Group, and the Certification Committee.  He is also a workshop facilitator for Standards training.
