Faye Manaster Eldar has over 20 years experience as an educator, human services professional, and childrens advocate. She is a volunteer State Coordinator for Family Voices, a national grassroots organization advocating for children with special health care needs and their families. She is employed by the University of Illinois-Chicago, Division of Specialized Care for Children, Department of Research and Development as a Research Data Analyst. She has worked in varied programs serving special needs and at-risk populations. Her areas of expertise include family support, early intervention, service coordination and health policy for children with special needs. In 1994, Ms. Eldar received the Eternal Vigilance Gargoyle Award for Lifetime Achievement in Disability Advocacy from the Council for Disability Rights in Chicago. She is the parent of Maya Eldar, age 16, who is deafblind and has cerebral palsy.
