Policy Changes - Academic Year 2001-2002
Standards of Student Performance
NEW Language
Probation: If the cumulative GPA is below 4.0 after completion of 12 semester hours of credit, the student is placed on probationary status. Students who are in academic trouble must consult with their academic advisor. A student with less than 12 semester hours of credit and a cumulative GPA below 4.0 will be sent a warning letter.
A hold will be placed on the student's registration by the Office of Student Affairs if the student is placed on the probation list or probation warning list. A memo will be sent to the student and copied to the advisor and Division Director indicating the hold has been placed on the student's registration. The hold will be removed after the student meets with his/her advisor and the advisor contacts Renita Moore, SPH Registrar, with instruction to remove the hold.
MPH and DrPH students must
be in good academic standing to register for IPHS 650 Field Experience in Public
Health or IPHS 661 DrPH Internship in Public Health. Students on probation will
not be permitted to register for any course that is graded on an S/U basis.
