1998-99 Highlights: In his first season with the Flames, he started
at the point in 11 games while seeing action in a total of 20 outings…averaged
5.4 ppg and 2.1 apg for the year, but improved to 8.4 ppg and 3.1 apg when he
was among the starting five…tallied the first-ever "double-double" of his career
against Loyola on Jan. 23 with career-highs of 16 points and 11 assists…for
his effort in the game, was named the MCC Player of the Week…scored in double
figures five times during the year…matched a personal-best with 16 points at
Wright State on Jan. 30…had 10 points on three different occasions, including
10 versus Florida International in his first start of the year…had 5 points,
5 assists, 4 steals and 4 rebounds in the overtime loss to Butler on Jan. 11…missed
the final two games of the year due to an irregular heart beat…also battled
asthma problems during the season.
Junior College Highlights: Played his first season of collegiate ball
at Malcolm X Junior College in Chicago...as a freshman in 1996-97, he averaged
20.1 ppg, 4.2 rpg and 3.1 assists to lead the Hawks...shot 56.1% from three-point
range and 84.9% at the charity stripe...earned all-region and All-America recognition.
Prep Highlights:...As a senior at South Shore High School, he averaged
21.0 ppg, 5.2 assists and 3.6 rpg as the Tars finished with a 21-7 record...voted
most valuable player of the City/Suburban All-Star game as he contributed 22
points and 6 assists.
