Eastern Michigan on Dec. 17, where she also added a season-high six points,
and at Detroit on Jan. 21...her 7 boards in the "Motor City" were also a season
high...was third on the team in total rebounds with 93...recorded a career-high
three steals at Wright State on Feb. 13...played in a career-best 32 minutes
of action at Wisconsin-Milwaukee on Feb. 27, registering four blocks, three
rebounds and two points...posted a career-high 5 assists in UIC's overtime win
over Chicago State.
1997-98: Became the first freshman to start a season opener since Joanne
McCarthy in 1992...starter in 20 games at center...swatted 28 shots, the most
since Jasmine Strange re-directed 38 attempts in 1993-94...shot 54.8% from the
field in the final 19 games of the season after shooting just 33% in her first
eight games...snagged six rebounds in each of her first three games of the season...hauled
in a season-best nine boards at Chicago State...went 4-for-4 from the floor
en route to eight points at Toledo...had seven games with multiple blocked shots...turned
back three attempts against Yale and a career-best five at Detroit...scored
in double digits twice...tossed in 10 points at Detroit and a career-high 11
against Butler at the MCC Championship...grabbed eight rebounds and blocked
a pair of shots at Wright State...finished third in the MCC in blocks (1.04)...fouled
out of seven contests...handed off a season-high three assists at Loyola.
HIGH SCHOOL: Holds the Illinois state records for blocked shots in
a season (118) and a career (238)...received votes for the Illinois Ms. Basketball
Award in 1996-97...represented the Class AA North squad in the Illinois Basketball
Coaches Association all-star game...helped Regina to a 17-10 record as a senior
as she averaged 8.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, 4.7 blocks and 1.6 steals per outing...blocked
a school-record 14 shots versus St. Ignatius in 1996-97...Special Mention All-State
selection by the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association...also gained special
mention honors from the Chicago Sun-Times and Pioneer Press...finished her prep
career as Regina's all-time leader in total rebounds (562), offensive rebounds
(204), defensive boards (358) and blocked shots (238)...also ranks second in
games played (82)...stands seventh in steals (102), ninth in field goals (204)
and field goals attempted (475) and 11th in scoring (459) on the Regina all-time
