Dear Prospective Student Athlete

I appreciate you taking the time to surf the Web for college possibilities. Clicking here and addressing UIC as a possible college for you to attend is a start in the right direction. Not just because you have clicked on UIC, but because you are intending to continue your Gymnastics in College.

I am very proud of all the accomplishments we have undergone at UIC in the past ten years, both educationally and athletically as well! We are a non-traditional University. We do not have Football. Our University's attention to develop a sound Basketball program as well a strong athletic program is currently in the making. This year the development of a $15,000,000.00 athletic fields are the newest addition to our goal of developing a Nationally recognized Athletic program in conjunction to high quality educational system. The UIC campus has under gone many changes since it's beginning. In fact, we are still in our infancy! This campus opened in 1964. A mere youngster when we compare ourselves to the majority of Universities around the country. Yet, UIC sound educational standards and research has UIC in the top 80 research colleges in the USA, not bad for a "youngster".

I like to open the lines of communication a little better by introducing my University a little clearer. I want to sell the University of Illinois - Chicago as a possible college for you and where you can continue improve your Gymnastics. I can answer any questions you might have, as well as those your parents may have. We will do everything in our power to aid you in your college selection and one you will be happy and comfortable with.

Your high school career will soon be beyond you and I hope you will find a top college to fit your needs, both academic and athletic. When you are done competing and out in the real world I know you will be able to back at your college experience and realize the choice you had made was good for your career and for your gymnastics.

Education, UIC has the academic curriculum necessary to prepare a student for medical school, engineering and the business world. The City of Chicago has much to offer a young man. Culturally speaking, there are varied arts that you can partake in. Chicago is large, but our athletes find it fun here. Many institutions can offer you "cornfield's". We, however, can offer one of our country's largest cities to expand your horizons in.

I hope to have you as one of our athletes for next season. I would like for you to consider UIC as a possible college next year. So plan to click on and I will be very happy to inform you about UIC. The University and other team members will all be here for you to meet. We hope that UIC is one of your college choices and one that I am sure you will be happy to be a part of.

Remember, we'd like you to feel comfortable here. Take us up on our offer to explore UIC and all its wealth. I will be looking forward meeting with you.

In closing, make sure that you have filled out all the necessary paper work from the NCAA Clearing House. This is one step you must take if you have any intentions of continuing your gymnastics. Check with your high school counselor to make sure all your paper work gets turned in to them.

Best wishes always.

Yours in Sport,

"CJ" Johnson
