1998: UIC's top vaulter…only member of the Flames to qualify
for the
NCAA Championships…qualified by finishing fourth at the NCAA East
Regional on the vault with a 9.700…broke the school record on the vault
with a 9.800 versus Michigan…also set a season high on the floor
exercise, finishing fourth with a 9.350…and set a career high on the
parallel bars with a 9.400 versus the Wolverines…took first on the
vault at Minnesota, scoring a 9.650…grabbed second on the pommel horse
versus Michigan State with a 9.450, setting a season high mark…tied
that season high of 9.450 in a fourth place finish on the pommel horse
at Iowa.
1997: In his rookie season, saw action on all six events as
well as the
all-around competition…was UIC's top vault finisher with a personal
best 9.60 against Iowa and Ohio State which also equaled the squad's
season high…took home third place on the vault at the National
Independent Championships with a 9.50…at NCAA Regionals, had UIC's
second-best vault score with a 9.45 and third-best horizontal bar score
with a 9.10…landed a career-high 9.55 on the floor exercise in a dual
meet with Michigan State…grabbed first place on the vault with a 9.50
and first on the pommel horse with a 9.60 in a dual meet with Michigan
in mid-March.
Personal/Prep: Earned one varsity letter as a diver at Saint
Andrews
High School and finished 10th at the Florida state diving championships
in 1996…majoring in Kinesiology…born January 12, 1978…son of Dr.
Frederick and Muffy Liebler.
