1998: Competed solely on the still rings for the Flames last
season…set
his season high at Air Force with a score of 9.250, finishing
fifth…placed 11th at Iowa on the rings with a 8.850…tallied a 9.150 at
home versus Michigan State…also collected a 9.100 on the rings at Navy.
1997: Saw action as a sophomore solely on the still
rings…along with
Charlie Nelson, tallied a season-high and personal-best score of 9.70
on the rings in a tri-meet with Army and Navy…his score contributed to
the Flames' season-high team score of 38.500…took second place on the
rings with a 9.55 versus Illinois…had UIC's second-best rings score at
the Windy City Invitational with a 9.20…turned in a 9.35 at the NCAA
Regionals.
1996: As a still rings specialist, finished fifth at the
National
Independent Championships with a 9.45…season-high score of 9.65 came in
a dual meet with Michigan where he earned a first-place finish.
Personal/Prep: In addition to gymnastics, also competed in
football and
wrestling at Lake Park High School…was regional champion on the still
rings as a junior and senior…in his final season, captured a sectional
title on the rings en route to a runner-up finish at the IHSA state
meet and All-America recognition…majoring in Communications …born
August 13, 1976…son of Richard and Charlene Orna.
