1998: Strong first season for the Flames competing on the
uneven bars,
balance beam and floor exercise…took third on the balance beam at the NIT
with a career high 9.800…had one of her best meets of the season at home
versus Illinois St., tallied two second place finishes with a season and
personal best 9.800 on the floor exercise and a 9.700 on the balance
beam…also grabbed a season and personal best 9.475 on the uneven bars at
the meet…named to the Scholastic All-State and All-Conference team at the
end of the season.
1997: Did not compete for the Flames last season due to NCAA
transfer
rules.
Personal/Prep: Signed a letter of intent to compete for the
Illinois State
Redbirds, but decided to attend UIC instead and will therefore retain
three years of eligibility…participated in club gymnastics and was a Level
10 National Qualifier in 1992…a Level 9 & 10 Regional Qualifier from
1991-96, she captured the 1996 state championship on the balance beam and
finished fourth in the all-around competition…advanced to the regionals on
the beam and took home second place…majoring in Exercise Physiology…born
March 7, 1978…daughter of Bonnie Berk.
