1998: One of UIC's most consistent gymnasts…competed in every
meet on the
floor, vault, and uneven bars…set her career high on the floor exercise at
Illinois with a 9.850, finishing second…scored a career high 9.725 on the
uneven bars at Northern Illinois for a fourth place finish…tallied a 9.825
and a second place finish on the floor exercise at home versus Michigan
State…finished fifth with a season high 9.700 on the vault at the Midwest
Independent Championships…named to the All-Conference team on the floor
exercise…also took third on the floor at the meet with a 9.825…tied for
ninth at the NIT on the floor exercise with a 9.775…earned Scholastic
All-State and All-Conference honors.
1997: Hit a career-high 9.80 on the floor exercise in a dual
meet with
Louisiana State on March 7…had UIC's second-highest vault score and
equaled a personal best with a 9.75 against Illinois State on March
2…contributed a 9.75 to UIC's season-high score of 48.900 on the floor
exercise against Northern Illinois…took home first place on the floor with
a 9.675 in UIC's season opener with Central Michigan.
1996: Earned National Collegiate Second Team honors at the NIT after
scoring a season-high 9.70 on the floor exercise on the Al-Conference
team…scored a season-high and personal-best score of 9.75 on the vault in
a tri-meet with Illinois State and Southeast Missouri State…at the
National Invitational Tournament, had UIC's best showing on the vault with
a 9.75.
Personal/Prep: A two-time letterwinner at Curie High School
as an
all-arounder…also a member of the Chicago Park District Show Team…was a
member of a park district team that traveled to Italy in 1994…received the
park district's Excellence in Gymnastics Award in 1994…majoring in
Kinesiology…a member of the UIC Student Advisory Committee…born December
1, 1977…daughter of E.C. and Gail Walker.
