Student Employment offers the following services to off campus employers:
Student Employment maintains Off Campus Job Listings as a service to the Chicagoland area. If your business needs to advertise a part-time position, simply go online to www.uiccareers.com, log in and select the Student Employment Office for your job posting needs.
The web posting system (www.uiccareers.com) allows employers to create their own username and password to input company profile information and job openings. Also, employers are able to search the student resume database for prospective candidates to contact for their positions. For more information, please feel free to contact our office at (312)996-3130.
The Job Location and Development (JLD) Program is a service through the Student Employment Office that assists employers to connect with enrolled students in ALL MAJORS who are seeking off-campus "career related" employment that is part-time year-round employment or full-time summer employment. If your position requires any educational background or can assist a student in enhancing his or her career goals, the position will be listed under the Job Location & Development Program. The JLD program is a federally funded program that operates year-round and can assist your company in recruiting qualified UIC students. Only qualified students (based on your requirements) will be referred to you.
The purpose of the JLD Program is to expose UIC students to options that best fit their individual career needs and aspirations. It is centered on creating real-world experiences and for students to increase self-knowledge and develop marketable skills that provide a solid foundation for securing career-related options beyond graduation. Employers post their job opportunities through UICCAREERS.COM. To that end, the program provides: part-time and full-time job listings, internship opportunities, job fairs, career development workshops and presentations (e.g., resume writing, interview preparation, how to find a part-time job, navigating a job fair, etc.), résumé reviews, mock interviews, on-campus interviews, and employer referrals.
Currently, we offer listings under (but are not limited to):
|Art & Communication||Engineering|
|Business & Administration||Health & Social Science|
|Computer||Recreation & Fitness|
If you or your company/ organization would like to lead a career development event or workshop and increase your campus recognition or would like to do an employer info booth, presentation, or an on-campus interview, please contact Monica Gerhardt at 312-996-5127 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
