Activating Your Registration Login

Once you receive your Notice of Admission for the summer session, you will need to activate two IDs with passwords, a NetID and an EnterpriseID, in order to register for courses. You will need your ID and password information to access various services throughout the semester and to check your grades at the end of the semester. Please keep this information in a safe place.

First, review the tips below for activating your logins. Then proceed to the detailed instructions for establishing your NetID and EnterpriseID.

  • Activating your NetID: You will be asked to provide your University Identification Number (UIN), which will appear on your Notice of Admission letter as an Applicant ID; your Social Security Number; and your date of birth.

If you do not have your Notice of Admission letter, you can look up your UIN online. If you did not provide a Social Security Number when you applied, you were assigned a Temporary Control Number (TCN). This number will appear on your Notice of Admission letter and should be entered in the Social Security Number field when you activate your NetID. Please call us at (312) 996-9099 or toll-free at (800) 625-2013 if you need assistance obtaining your UIN and, if applicable, your TCN.
  • Setting up email: After you activate your NetID and set up a password, you will be asked to either set up a UIC email account or to have your email routed to a non-UIC account.

  • Establishing your EnterpriseID: Once you activate your NetID and set up your email, you will be able to establish your EnterpriseID by logging in with your NetID and password and then setting an EnterpriseID password.

  • Previous UIC students: You may have set up one or both of these login IDs already. If you already have a NetID but not an EnterpriseID, you can still refer to the instructions in the above link for establishing your EnterpriseID.

  • UIUC and UIS students: If you attend the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign or the University of Illinois at Springfield, you will need to activate your UIC NetID and set up a UIC email account or email forwarding, but you will not need to establish an EnterpriseID. You will be able to use the same EnterpriseID and password that you use at your home campus.

Problems? If you encounter any problems activating your logins, please go to the NetID Activation Overview web page for troubleshooting tips and for instructions on how to report a problem.

Using Your NetID and EnterpriseID

Your NetID and your EnterpriseID may appear the same depending on how your IDs were established, but they have very different purposes.

You will be able to use your NetID to access campus specific sites and services, such as UIC WebMail and Blackboard, to login to computers in the Academic Computing and Communications Resource Center (ACCC) labs, and to use ACCC dial-in and wireless network services.

With your EnterpriseID, you will be able to log in to the University-wide administrative system for official records through UIC Web for Student to use services such as checking your registration eligibility and registration Time Ticket, registering for classes, checking and updating your address, viewing and paying your E-Bill, and checking your grades.

Forget your Login IDs or Passwords?

NetID

If you forget your NetID, you can look it up using the UIC Online Phonebook. If you forget the password for your NetID, you can retrieve it online using the ACCC Password Changing Utility, or you can go to an ACCC computer lab and a lab consultant will assist you.

EnterpriseID

Often, your EnterpriseID will look the same as your NetID, so if your NetID is “joan,” your EnterpriseID will likely be “joan” too. If you forget your EnterpriseID or password, you can go to the Enterprise Password Reset web page. There, you will enter your NetID and your NetID password. You can then see your EnterpriseID and change your EnterpriseID password. You can also contact the Administrative Information Technology Services (AITS) Help Desk at (312) 996-4806 for assistance with your EnterpriseID or password.
